Saturday, August 10, 2024, was a beautiful warm day for the 13th Annual Beautiful Run/Walk BC.
Together we raised over $15,500 after expenses

Our 12th annual event was held on August 23, 2024 at Tynehead Park in Surrey.
115 friends and volunteers came out, with children, dogs, scooters, strollers, and bicycles beneath a sun-filled blue sky.
The event raised $17,500.

Saturday August 6, 2022 the 11th Annual Beautiful Run Walk BC was held at Tynehead Park in Surrey.
We were blessed with a bright sunny day and a pleasantly mild morning.
John Funk welcomed everyone with a description of the work done by Beautiful Gate and its staff and the importance of participants and sponsors to the well-being of the children.
Approximately 75 participants and volunteers took part in the event raising over $15,000 after expenses bringing the 11 year total to over $170,000.

Our 10th Annual 5k In person and Virtual Family Run/Walk took place on August 7th and despite another year of COVID and the first rainy day in over a month it was another great success!
We had close to 100 people brave the elements to attend in person and more participated virtually.
We raised over $15,000 before expenses so far and the final numbers will be updated in early September.

Our 9th Annual 5k Virtual Family Run/Walk was a huge success, despite Covid 19 Restrictions.
Praise God, we raised $25,000 before expenses, the highest single event for Beautiful Run BC.
We had 37 teams, 137 donors, and after expenses we sent almost $21,000 to Beautiful Gate Lesotho.
Our expenses were slightly higher this year because we used Raisely to coordinate our virtual run/walk due to COVID restrictions for group gatherings.

The results are in - our gross for Beautiful Run BC 2019 was $8471 and our total gross since 2012 is now over $100,000 - Praise God!
With our mission trip and the run/walk this year we sent $15,275 to the orphanage for their daily expenses or other specified needs as indicated by our donors.
We continued to keep our administration costs to 15% or less again this year.
Remember that donations can still be made throughout the year if you would like to bless them with additional funds to enable them

Sorry for the delay in posting updates about our January Mission Trip to Beautiful Gate. Michael and Chyrlle have been serving in England and were unable to carry out this idea. Thank you for supporting our 5K Family Run/Walk for Beautiful Gate Lesotho by participating, donating, volunteering or praying.The results are in and we raised $13,325 Gross, less Expenses of $1,994; Net $11,331. Over 7 years the Lord has blessed Beautiful Run BC with $75,426 Net for Beautiful Gate for daily expenses.
We only had 88 participants this year, so we have decided to return to the second Saturday in August next year. See you August 10, 2019!

Discipleship International staff report Beautiful Run BC raised a gross of $17,984.65 with a net amount of $16,056.77 forwarded to Beautiful Gate. We estimate approximately 150 participants and volunteers were present Aug 12, 2017 at Tynehead Park.
2017 Mission Trip
Michael & Chyrlle Dunne led a team of nine to Beautiful Gate in March 2017. They assisted the housemothers with the care of 75 children between the ages of newborn to 5. Our chores included feeding, dressing, cuddling, playing, and entertaining them. We also did a VBS programme for the older children and a Discipleship Training for the staff. This trip resulted in additional donations of $15,000 net used to purchase a fridge for medications, a truck for garbage and maintenance, and balance was used to help with daily needs. We also took 250 pounds of medications and 50 pounds of children's books.

Funds raised for 2016 are $10,625 less expenses $1,468.49 net proceeds $9,156.51. Ratio of expenses to revenue 13.8%. Discipleship International provides the CRA Charitable Receipts and does all the collection and reporting functions for Beautiful Run BC.
The Walk/Run for Beautiful Gate is based on three principles: Pray, Participate, and Donate. Praise God who has shown us his steadfast love and faithfulness.

We extend our warmest thanks to all Participants, Donors, Business Supporters, Runners, Walkers, Volunteers, and Others. You are making a difference in the lives of the children at Beautiful Gate.
Funds raised were $8,328.82 Gross, less $1,493.18 Expenses, with $6,835.64 Net proceeds to be forwarded to Beautiful Gate. We also thank Discipleship International for providing our tax receipts through an agreement made with Beautiful Gate. Participation for 2015 was up approximately 50% with 140 participants/volunteers.

On August 16, 2014 we held our 3rd Annual 5K Family Run/Walk for Orphans at Tynehead Regional Park in Surrey BC.
Thank you to all our participants (75 this year), donors and volunteers. This year’s contributions totaled $8,410 and our expenses were $1,240.51. This left us with $7,169.49 that was forwarded to Beautiful Gate.

Our 2nd Annual Run/Walk for Orphans was held on August 10, 2013 at Bear Creek Park in Surrey, BC. We doubled our participation to 50 and raised $8,105 and our expenses were $656.75, leaving $7,448.25 that was forwarded to Beautiful Gate Child Care Center in Lesotho Africa.

In 2012, Chyrlle & Michael Dunne together with Christine & Idy Ema set out to raise funds to support Beautiful Gate after Jason & Kirsten Simpson, members of our church family at Crossridge Church in Cloverdale adopted a sister and brother from this orphanage and the director, Bryan Gerink, made a presentation to the church members.

Bryan was billetted with the Dunnes and we heard first hand his hopes and dreams for Beautiful Gate Child Care Centre in Lesotho, Africa and were excited to try to help with the day-to day expenses of running an orphanage. With some help from Beautiful Run in Redwood California, we set our first event for August 2012 in Bear Creek Park in Surrey, BC.
