WALK alongside Beautiful Gate Child Care Center®

A Beautiful Run for Beautiful Gate

Thanks to everyone who supported Beautiful Gate through this mission trip. We raised $15.000, which was used to purchase a few things that were on their wish list: $2000 for a new fridge for the clinic to keep medications on site for the children who need them; $1,000 for 250 pounds of medical supplies that were donated by Health Partners International of Canada; and the remaining may be used for other capital assets or will be used to offset their annual shortfall in support for caring for the children.

We had a team of 9 who spent 11 days on site and were amazed at the wonderful facility and the loving care lavished on the children. We spent each morning working with the housemothers helping to feed, dress, and interact with the children as they went about their regular routine of attending Playgroup, while the 4 & 5-year-olds went to Pre-school. After lunch we did a Vacation Bible School for the Pre-school group and a Discipleship Training for the staff. We had a great time getting to know the children, staff and long-term volunteers.

We return with new enthusiasm to get to work on this year’s Run/Walk and look forward to seeing all of our regular supporters out again, and hope to see a number of new runners, walkers and supporters come to see what we are all about. We have a great presentation to show to any group that may be interested in supporting Beautiful Gate. Contact us at

A Brief Historical Summary:>>,began in 2012, and the proceeds raised, now over $26,000 to the end of 2015 have been used to meet daily needs for the 75 children at Beautiful Gate Child Care Centre in Lesotho, Africa. The children are from zero to five years of age, including orphaned, abandoned, abused, neglected and destitute, HIV/Aids affected and other vulnerable children and are part of the 100,000 orphans in Lesotho. Beautiful Gate was founded by YWAM staff in 2001 and is now a standalone entity with many children being adopted by Canadian families. Organizers of the Beautiful Run BC ar_mg_8596-jason-sharinge Chyrlle & Michael Dunne, Idy & Christine Ema, and Karina Wiebenga.

Jason & Kirstin Simpson of Crossridge Church in Cloverdale adopted siblings Ridley and Zion from Beautiful Gate in 2011. A meeting at Pastor Andy Frew’s home with the Beautiful Gate Director Bryan Gerink and his description of the needs at Beautiful Gate Lesotho in the late winter of 2012, moved the group to start the Run/Walk to raise funds.

The Walk/Run for Beautiful Gate is based on three principles: Participate, Donate and Pray.

Praise God who has shown us his steadfast love and faithfulness.
